During yesterday's DG Lunch & Learn, eager designers flooded The Patricia Group's showroom floors to learn more about the newest wave in technology and design: Home Theaters. Home Theater systems are becoming a popular part of many homeowners design plans, says Patricia Crocker, owner of The Patricia Group, and it's important for designers to be familiar with the ins-and-outs of these systems. Guided by Patricia and her informative staff, the group went from station to station, viewing the latest and greatest in home entertainment products and design (DG's own Shannon Streater test-drove the high-tech D Box motion simulation theater chair--the same seating technology used by Disneyland in their attractions--that moves in conjunction with the sights and sounds of the theater system, making you feel like you are actually a part of the movie you are watching.) All in all, it was an enlightening afternoon followed by a delicious lunch and lots of chatter about the information these designers took away from the interactive lecture.
