This past month Design Guide has sponsored and participated in several events: The DFW Home Show, Legacy of Design Awards and our annual Summer Designs Cocktail Party, which all lead up to this year’s Metrocon Expo & Conference.

Legacy of Design Awards and the annual Summer Designs Cocktail Party was held at Dallas Market Center this year and was a networking success.

The 2011 Legacy of Design Awards is an annual competition that recognizes the finest interior design achievements within the Texas Chapter. The Baxter Design Group made a great sweep, winning 1st place in Traditional (Large) Residences, Traditional (Small) Residences, Multifamily Living, Multifamily Facilities, Sustainable/Green Design and 2nd place in Traditional Bathroom.

Tamie Glass and Ulrich Dangel, and Thiel and Thiel Inc are two out of the many talented designers that have also received recognition in several categories. A thorough list of the winners can be found here, courtesy of ASID.

DG’s Summer Designs Cocktail event was not only held to have interior designers network with quality vendors and to celebrate the winners of Legacy of Design, but was also held as a kick-off to 2011’s MetroCon Expo & Conference held in Dallas the following day.

SANTAMARGHERITA, an Italian company specializing in the production of marble and quartz surfaces, wins top honor at Metrocon 2011: the Pegasus Award for "Best Overall Exhibit". The Verona Marble Company in Dallas is the USA headquarters for SANTAMARGHERITA and we here at Design Guide congratulate them on their exceptional win.

Design Guide had a booth at MetroCon that was absolutely exquisite. With the booth being furnished by Roche Bobois, a vibrant colored hide rug from Interior Resources, and an entertaining photo booth courtesy of F8 Studio, our area was constantly occupied. Interior designers and vendors mingled with members of Design Guide and had a wonderful time. We look forward to next year!
