The Austin chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) completed its inaugural Tour of Homes this past month. The event was a resounding success with a higher than anticipated attendance and much positive feedback from designers and attendees. Featuring 4 Austin based design firms: Panache Interiors, Spaces Designed, Bulhon Designs and Laura Britt Design. All designers are Design Guide partners and we could not be more thrilled for their revered and acclaimed spaces on the tour.

The purpose of the tour was to showcase the talents of local ASID member designers and it definitely reached its goal. The Tour was open to Austin designers only. Each home was staffed by the respective design teams who were also on site to answer visitor's questions about ASID, the home itself and the advantages of working with an ASID designer. Due to the events popularity and success, it is safe to say that this will be the first of many ASID Home Tours in the Austin area.

Spaces Designed Interior Design Studio, LLC

Spaces Designed Interior Design Studio, LLC created a space that would rival any of its kind. While inundating a space with contemporary and modern chic, the design was kept energetic, young and emitted a feel of elevated luxury. The house's stark beauty accented by the lush, green valley as a backdrop, made this project an exciting one for Spaces Designed. The focus was to keep the minimalistic approach of the house but make it warm, inviting with rich colors and textures. The steel and metal structure needed to be complimented with soft furnishings and warm tones. The concept for the house was developed around the maximization of the views beyond the cliff. The result is a feeling of being in a space even larger than it actually is.

The entryway is accented by a bright green spray of impressionistic wall décor with the stark white walls and beautiful handcrafted classic piece of console and the calming Buddha statue.

As one ascends the stairs to the main kitchen and living space, a highly saturated painting of red hues graces the top of the stairs. The curvilinear wall covering draws you into the living space. A peaceful and elegant space, the low, modern couches and chairs suggest informal comfort while still exuding style. The lush high-pile rugs, efficient fixtures, round dining table with classic chairs add to the classic contemporary feel.

The daughter's bedroom was refurnished and refinished in this three story ultra-modern style house. Rooms that previously had a stripped-away industrial aesthetic were transformed into dynamic, but comfortable; and warm, but sleek spaces with softer, but still clean lines. This was accomplished through bold artwork, a pin-tucked upholstered wall in the child’s room. The child’s room is a room fit for a princess with bright flower hues bringing life to the white bed linens and tactile pin-tucked wall. Every detail of the design of the home works to revive and liven up the originally cool, modern aesthetic.

In the master bedroom the bed faces a wall of glazing with a stunning view. The furniture and accessories in this room add stylish, but simple accents to the restful space. Panache Interior Design

Panache Interior Design uses rich color, refined textures and masculine yet demure lines in order to establish the space's bold and extravagant use of sophisticated aesthetics.

It is fascinating and commendable when a space is successfully fused with such extreme color elements: dark and warm hues in elegantly contrasted along bright and naturally uplifting backgrounds.

Bulhon Design Associates

Bulhon Design Associates created a traditionally lined space with soft and comforting lines. The colors are reminiscent of a sandy neutrals and creams. Exposed timber ceilings and wood allowed for a rustic and appealing aesthetic. This, mixed with courteous lines and gentle textures allow for a tranquil domestic environment.

The darker colors used in the kitchen highlight and compliment the lighter aesaesthetic of the home's design.

Laura Britt Design

Laura Britt Design maintained an organic space by emphasizing exposed natural textures: wood, limestone and brick. Colors noticed in the space are hues that are found in a natural environment. Evergreen, dark brown, caramel and cream envelope the home to emit an inviting, serene and comforting environment.
