Dallas Market Center Hosts Cocktail Party to Raise Funds for Haiti Relief
– THE Inspired Event will feature the first annual Inspiration Award and a silent auction –
WHAT: Dallas Market Center hosts THE Inspired Event, a silent auction and cocktail party
benefiting the American Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts. Hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and a
live band will keep the energy going while attendees bid on silent auction items.
WHO: The event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and Dallas Market Center buyers from across the
country attending the Total Home & Gift Market and Apparel & Accessories Market being
held March 25-28.
HIGHLIGHTS: Silent Auction & Fashion Group International Red Dresses – Red is the color of passion
and this March, of compassion too. Items donated by Dallas Market Center exhibitors will
be auctioned off with starting bids at wholesale prices with all proceeds going to American
Red Cross Haiti relief efforts. Also, red dresses designed by Fashion Group International
students will be on display. Attendees can vote for their favorite dress with a $1 contribution
to the American Red Cross.
The Inspiration Award – The first annual Inspiration Award will be presented, to an
individual who inspires others to give back and volunteer their time. This year’s recipient,
Melissa Plaskoff, created Lemons to Aid. Lemons to Aid encourages parents to get their
children involved in raising money for others by creating lemonade stands, bake sales and
other creative ideas. Today, lemonade stands have started to pop-up across the country
due to Melissa’s efforts.
COST: ADMISSION IS FREE
WHEN: Thursday, March 25 from 6-8 p.m. (complimentary beer and wine from 6-7 p.m.; cash bar
from 7-8 p.m.)
