Gremillion & Co. Opening Reception for Ann S. Adams

Gremillion & Co. will be holding an opening reception on Saturday, September 24th from 5-7 P.M. to honor its new month-long exhibit: Streaming by Ann S. Adams.

Streaming will be exhibited from September 24th to October 22nd.

Tuesday through Saturday from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Streaming... the act of flowing, connecting, and continuing.

“Throughout the course of a day or a year, I am fascinated by light as it bounces and dances across the foliage and water in my garden; the environment found throughout my work. Without fail, the garden provides a myriad of opportunities to observe and reflect upon contrasts existing within the textures of layered canopies. It is in the colour of the leaves, in combination with the intensity of nearby blooms I encounter my muse and inspiration.”

As with the best and most innovative artist of every era, Ann draws upon and combines both traditional and contemporary techniques and mediums. In every work, Adams extracts and suspends moments of time taken from the surroundings of her garden. Each piece is filled with all the elements she requires to render the essence of light in its many manifestations of contrasting hues.

Her celebration of nature’s flora goes beyond the expectations of traditional botanicals: Through combining digital technology with the age-old techniques of pastels, she reveals her aesthetic that explores light and the transience of moment.
