Matt Brown is a Specification Manager for Lutron Electronics Co. He consults with specifiers in the lighting community to provide lighting control solutions on a multitude of project types. Matt holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and is also a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.

Light Control and Sustainable Residential Design
Following a discussion of current concepts of sustainable design, an exploration of residential energy consumption will show how the control of electric and natural light contributes to energy savings. Gain a better understanding of the USGBC REGREEN Guidelines and learn how to integrate sustainable design clues into individual rooms, during any stage and on any budget of a project. A residential project example will be examined to illustrate how light control can enhance design and sustainability in a space while contributing to broader energy goals.
