Unlike some art galleries that have come and gone in the Dallas area, Banks Fine Art has established itself for more than 30 years. This hybrid gallery has distinguished itself by selling beauty and quality from both living and antique artists.
The gallery is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Bob and Maloree Banks. Bob specializes in antique artists, and has recently acquired a rare collection from artist Bill Parker, which he was introduced to six years ago. Parker was an Ecole de Paris artist who worked with Hans Hoffmann.

Parker was born in Josephine, Texas in 1922, but spent many years painting abroad and participating in the School of Paris exhibitions. He was a master of Abstract Expressionism. In this painting of his pictured above, you see that he has combined color to a maximum force. The combination shapes and patterns these colors captures the viewer’s eye as it moves it throughout the composition.
“I was struck by his colors, textures, his forward thinking and his brilliant compositions,” said Banks.

Painted ceilings have this similar feel of a negative of a photograph. It's flipped from colorful walls and white celings to white/light walls and colorful ceilings. It's startling in a delightful way.

Colored ceilings are great for creating the illusion of there being more architectural detail, dimension and light than there actually is in a space.
